Father Wilwerding transferred to Council Bluffs

Father Glen WILWERDING, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mount Ayr, St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Osceola and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand River, has been reassigned to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs.

His last mass in Mount Ayr will be 8 a.m. November 18. That morning Father WILWERDING will be honored by church musician Betsy KEENAN, special piano music by Abbey SCHAFER and vocal music by "First Things First," a local quartet of family members including Carol Ann McCREARY, Barbie BELZER, Jodie WURSTER and Grace WARIN.

Following mass Father WILWERDING will be honored at a parish breakfast and time of fellowship at the church.

In addition to the breakfast in Mount Ayr, Father Glen will be honored at a gathering of the Ringgold County Ministerial Alliance November 14, at a dinner at St. Patrick's in Grand River on November 17 and a parish potluck at St. Bernard's in Osceola November 19.

He was assigned to St. Patrick's, St. Bernard's, St. Joseph's and the now-closed Immaculate Conception Parish in Maloy in July 2008. While in Mount Ayr he has been active in the Ministerial Alliance and often attended community activities.

In addition to his parish assignments, he has ministered to students at Graceland University in Lamoni.
