Leona MINNICK celebrated her 80th birthday Sunday with an open house at the Tingley Community Building. Around 100
peopple were in attendance. Leona is from a family of 11 children. Two sisters, Mrs. Lucille HOLLOWAY and her
daughter, Nora Mae of Irven and Dorothy SALTZMAN of Tingley and two brothers, Darrell DAVENPORT of Mount Ayr and
Alvin DAVENPORT of Creston were present. Leona has 15 grandchildren and was proud to have all nine of her
great-grandchildren there. Her three daughters, Linda of Athens, Texas, who drove up by herself, Mary Jane and
all her family from Gretna, Neb. were present, Marilyn WEEDA of Tingley and all her children, and son, Richard
MINNICK and all of his family from Des Moines were present. Lyle MINNICK and his family of Kellerton were
