A new bridge is being built over the river just east of Diagonal and the first bridge beams were being swung into place there Monday morning. There are 15 beams all together that will provide the basis for the new bridge decka nd all 15 were scheduled to be in place by Wednesday afteroon.

The bridge is a replacement for one damaged in last year's flooding and Federal Emergency management Funds helped pay for its replacement.

Ringgold county has several bridge projects underway this summer and this bridge is one of the largest in the county road system.
