Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, October 04, 2012

Darrell Dodge named news editor

Darrell DODGE has begun responsibilities as the new News Editor for the Mount Ayr Record-News.

DODGE is not stranger to the Mount Ayr Record-News columns. He has covered the school board for the paper in the past and filled in when former publisher Alan SMITH took vacations in the past. His background has been in education prior to accepting the new position. He has been a teacher on the high school and college level, a high school principal, and most recently helped coordinate the student teacher program for Graceland University in Lamoni.

"We were very fortunate to find someone like Darrell to take over the majority of the news gathering duties of the Record-News," said publisher Tom HAWLEY. "His experience, along with the training from Alan SMITH, should let us continue to provide comprehensive coverage of life in Ringgold County."

"I couldn't be more happy to be 'back home,'" DODGE said. "I hope I can continue the tradition of excellence established by Alan SMITH here at the Record-News.

Dodge's family

He and his wife, Angi, live in Mount Ayr. Angi retired just this year after 34 years of teaching elementary school in Mount Ayr.

The DODGE'S have two married daughters, Jentry (husband Daniel) GRAHAM and sons Dylan and DREWOF Diagonal, and Annie (husband Rick) SCHWEITZBERGER and daughter Emrey and son Teag of Grimes.
