Arneals' Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. R. B. ARNEAL entertained Tuesday of last week in their home in Mount Ayr on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.

Open House was held in the afternoon and evening and approximately 150 persons signed the guest book. A number of congratulatory calls from friends and relatives were also received during the day.

The table from which refreshements of wedding cake, baked and beautifully decorated by Mrs. John STUCK of Mount Ayr, nuts, mints, punch and coffee were served, was laid with a cloth crocheted by Mrs. ARNEAL. A centerpiece of golden flowers made by Mrs. Inez WIAND, of Lenox, was arranged in a dish, a wedding gift received by the ARNEALS fifty years ago.

Although the honored couple had requested no gifts, they were kindly remembered with many lovely flowers, potted plants and gifts.

Long distance calls were received from Dr. John F. ARNEAL, of Baltimore, Md., brother of Mr. ARNEAL, W. C. ARNEAL of Edgerton, Wis., and the Rev. Lloyd E. SHAW, of Clay Center, Kan., a former pastor of the local United Presbyterian Church.

Out-of-town guests who attended the Open House were Mr. and Mrs. James A. ARNEAL, Stevie and Janet, of North Bend, Neb., Mrs. Blanche ROWLANDS and Mrs. Edna ARNEAL, of Edgerton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. C. R. TERRYBERRY, of Westboro, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Stuart W. HOOVER, of Denver, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. HOOD, of Parnell, Mo.
