For the first time in history, the Mount Ayr Community high school Raiders have a state golf champion. Raider senior T. J. REDDING shot rounds of three over par and one under par over the two days for a 36-hold total of 146, six strokes better than his closest competitor. As well as winning the individual title, REDDING led the Raider team to a second place finish in the Class 2A tournament, the best finish at state the Raider golfers have ever had. The last Raider state champion was Brad ELLIOTT, who won the 800 meter run at the boys state track meet two years ago.
