Winner in all divisions of the holiday decorations contest, sponsored by the Mount Ayr Lions Club, as determined by the judges, are Mrs. Jim THOMPSON, Walter BRADLEY, Pat CARR, Alvin CROSS, Johnny McFARLAND and the Clinton Motel.

Paul A. MAIN, 24 years of age, of Mount Ayr, [son of Orville and Florence MAIN] was killed instantly Wednesday night of last week in a one-car accident, which happened near Martensdale in Warren county. Seriously injured in the accident was Lynn SICKELS, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil SICKELS of Kellerton, who suffered head, chest and leg injuries.

Mrs. Stan NEWTON, a 1937 graduate of the Mount Ayr high school, was elected president of the school's alumni association at its annual banquet and dance held Monday night in the school gymnasium. Mrs. NEWTON succeds Mrs. Leo STUCK.
