Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, October 28, 2004

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Awards were given to Ringgold County 4-H members for the year's work and an evening of family fun was held at the Ringgold County fairgrounds Sunday evening. Major awards, medals and certificates were announced for each level of 4-H. Certificates were given for one year of project work. Medals were given for at least two years of project work. Major medals were given to senior-age 4-Hers and are considered that [is] the highest honor a 4-H member can receive in their 4-H career. The outstanding record book awards are one that 4-Hers can receive annually if they maintain quality in their record books. Winners of major awards were Amy WEEDA, Courtney WEEDA, Amanda HYNEK, Jennifer HOSFIELD, Jessica PIERSCHBACHER, Levi CAMERON and Christy JOHNSON

Win number five for the Mount Ayr Community Raiders came in a big way at Pleasantville Friday night with a 53-16 win. Raider quarterback Michael INLOES rolled up 131 yards in 11 carries to lead the Raider backs in the win.

The Raiderette season-ending battle couldn't have been any closer. After trading wins in the first four games of the match, the Class 2A district volleball match-up with Clarinda came down to the final game and Clarinda won 16-14 to take the match.
