One hundred and forty members and friends of the First Christian church gathered at the American Legion Hall Monday evening, Feb. 24, for a family fellowship hosted by the Christian Education Committee, Hazel FOTZ, chairman. Freida WOOLLUMS reported for the placement committee. Over 20 sites around the community have been offered and this had been most graciously appreciated by the congreation. Church school has begun again on the 24th. Children in the preschool through the sixth grade should come to the library basement for their opening assembly before going to their classes from now on. The church will be collecting Regal Stamps and books as well as Betty Crocker coupons to be use to replace kitchen items lost in the fire. A survey of fund-raising suggestions was distributed and those present were asked to return them next Sunday.

Frederick "Rick" HAWKINS has been hired as executive officer for the Ringgold County Conservation baord and began work Monday morning, Feb. 25. He assumes the position held by Mark VERSCH since March 21, 1977. VERSCH has accepted a job as resource planner with the Papio Natural Resource district in Nebraska. Mrs. VERSCH is the home economics teacher in the Diagonal school system. HAWKINS comes here from Marcus in Cherokee county where he has been a forester for the Cherokee County Conservation Board.

Barbara WALTERS of Kellerton was elected chairman of the Ringgold County Democratic central committee.
