TINGLEY NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, April 27, 2006

The Mount Ayr high school jazz band traveled to Tingley Friday and entertained the meal site here. They were directed by Mr. Greg STORHOFF. When they were set up and before they played, Mr. STORHOFF had each member introduce themselves, their grade, where they live, their parents and grandparents, if present. Members came from all over Ringgold county. Four band members had grandparents present. They included Cass HOSFIELD, whose grandparents present were Naomi and George HOSFIELD, Brandon WERNER, grandmother present was Maxine WERNER, Wesley CAMPBELL, grandmother present was Ethel CAMPBELL, and Jen ANGUS, who had a great-grandmother, Nora GILES, present.

They played three selections, Choose Your Blues, A Warm Fuzzy, and This Is It with soloists featured in each. They made everyone so proud of what they've accomplished. The students remained for dinner at the site, courtesy of Dick DERSCHEID. Again, all were impressed by the manners and politeness of these young folks.

Once again, there were many local fans in the stands, including Kenny, Chelsea and Richard LILIENTHAL. What a show they were given, as Mat WEST took the win in the open class feature race.
