The upper story of the ELLISON farm dwelling of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart V. ELLISON, four miles south and three-fourths mile east of Mount Ayr, was almost completely destroyed by fire about noon on April 19. Mount Ayr volunteer firemen responded to the alarm and saved the first floor from damage. The fire, of unknown origin, started in the attic.

The National Baton Twirling Association, Janesville, WI, in conjunction with the editors of Drum Major Magazine, today announced the release of their 12th annual library edition of the book, "Who's Who in Baton Twirling." Featured in the book is a picture and biography of Jeani BASTOW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles BASTOW of Mount Ayr.

More than 2,000 students, members of bands, boys and girls glee clubs and mixed choruses from 20 high schools in southwest Iowa, will compete in the large group contest to be held May 5 in Mount Ayr. More than 50 busses will be used to transport the students, the firstof which are scheduled to arrive in Mount Ayr before 8 a.m.

Neighbors and friends gathered April 20 and 21 to pick corn for Roy SICKELS, who has been ill with a heart condition. Those who assisted were Rex SICKELS, Sam SICKELS, Billie FINCH, Cecil SICKELS, Gene SICKELS, Clair WOOLLUMS, John THOMAS and Raymond BUCK.

Albert BAGLEY and Ted PERLENFEIN, co-owners of Lucky Lanes Bowling Alley in Mount Ayr since 1960, have dissolved partnership by mutual consent. Mr. BAGLEY purchased Mr. PERLENFEIN'S interest last week and is now sole owner.

One hundred and fifty children, ranging in age from two through 10 years, participated in an Easter egg hunt held Saturday morning at the Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club.
