Robert Harold SEFRIT, 39, a farmer of the Delphos vicinity, died suddenly Monday afternoon in Des Moines after suffering a heart attack. After losing the use of an arm, Mr. SEFRIT consulted an Omaha, NE doctor last week. Acting upon his advice to take some therapy treatments, he had gone to Younkers Rehabilitation Center in Des Moines, where he died without warning before treatment was administered.

The Mount Ayr Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8881 and its Auxiliary will celebrate the burning of the mortgage on the Post home, located at 1108 E. Monroe, at an oyster-chili supper to be served October 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The Mount Ayr Raiders downed the Lenox Tigers Friday night, 22-0, in a steady down pour with only a handful of sports fans remaining in the bleachers after the first quarter kickoff.

Mrs. Doyle ANDREW of this city is one of six Iowans recently honored by the American Cancer Society for 10 years of service as chairman of the Ringgold county chapter of the society and nine years as crusade chairman. Those who accompanied Mrs. ANDREW to the meeting were Mr. ANDREW, chapter delegate; Mrs. Marie TODD, and Allen HUDSON.

Larry McALEXANDER and Junior MATHANY, members of the Beacon Bombers 4-H Club and the top Ringgold county junior demonstration team, enjoyed an award trip October 13 to Ames. The youths were accompanied to Ames by their leader,Kenneth McALEXANDER; fellow club members, Jerry McALEXANDER and Gene STANLEY, and Milt HENDERSON, and after a tour of the university campus, the group attended the Iowa State-Colorado football game.

Mrs. Melvin NEWTON assumed her duties October 1 as research home economist for the Maytag Company in Newton. Mrs. NEWTON is the former Helen HETZEL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. A. HETZEL of this city. She is a graduate of the Mount Ayr high school and in February of this year received a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Iowa State University in Ames.

Officers re-elected for the Ringgold County Farm Bureau were Lee DAVENPORT of Diagonal, president; Lloyd ANGUS of Mount Ayr, vice-president; Duane TRIGGS of Mount Ayr, secretary, and L. H. GRAY of Mount Ayr, treasurer. Mrs. Lyman WALKER of Kellerton was elected Farm Bureau Women's chairman; Mrs. L. H. GRAY of Mount Ayr was named vice-chairman, and Mrs. Cecil SICKELS of Kellerton was elected publicity chairman.
