B. A. SALTZMAN, a director of Ringgold County Mutual Insurance Association for the past 28 years and president of the association for 25 years, was honored at a testimonial dinner served June 13, in the dining parlors of the Mount Ayr Methodist Church. A fine gold wristwatch was presented to Mr. SALTZMAN as a token of appreciation. Awards were also presented by Leo D. GIBSON, vice-president, to R. B. ARNEAL, Ralph GRAHAM and Rowe T. DENNEY, who had served 24, 23 and 20 years, respectively, as directors. J. Donald GILLASPEY, special agent of the association for 20 years, was also given special recognition and an award.

Hon. Grant A. SHIFFLETT last week purchased the Ivan JOHNSTON residence property four blocks west of the square in Mount Ayr. Possession will be given July 1. The transaction was made through the Carl G. RIGGS Agency in Tingley.

Three 4-H members from Ringgold county will exhibit five head of dairy heifers at the Creston 4-H and FFA Dairy Show scheduled for June 27 in Creston. They are Jackie MAIN, Lyle FARIS and Larry SCHAD.

John A. LIPPINCOTT, who has served as minister of the Mount Ayr and Caledonia Methodist churches for the past two years, has been returned for another year.

Winners of the Kids' Fish Day contest are Billie WILEY, Kyle SHAHA, Debra Kay SMITH, Arthur DAVIS, Gwen TRULLINGER, Julia Ann HALEY, Bobby HALEY and Doris Jean DUKES. The annual event was held June 14 at Loch Ayr north of Mount Ayr, sponsored by the Ringgold County Sportsmen's Club.

Arlen F. HUGHES, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. HUGHES of Kellerton, graduated June 1 from the law school at Drake University, Des Moines, with a bachelor of law degree.
