A Ringgold county chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis has been organized and the following officers elected: Chairman, Vera F. DICKENS; vice-chairman, Dr. J. W. HILL; treasurer, Miller CHRISTIANSEN; and, secretary, Peter J. McGRATH.

Norman THOMPSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim THOMPSON, has won the three-dollar cash prize for turning in the most votes in the gasoline motor scooter contest for the week ending July 20.

TINGLEY - Officer and heads of committees for the Tingley Institute to be held in August have been named as follows: President, John BLAUER; vice-president, Grant SHIFFLETT; secretary, Leo WILLIAMS; treasurer, D. L. McCLURE; executive committee, Clarence WEEDA, Clarence LININGER and H. J. MORRISON; horse show, Dr. H. D. SHEUMAKER; saddle horse show, Fred HUBBARD; pony show, Maynard SWANSON; baby beef show, Harold BLAUER and Keith LININGER; ladies' departments, Margaret ECKERMAN, Mrs. D. L. McCLURE and Mrs. H. J. MORRISON; concessions, Wayne OVERHOLTZER; finance, Wm. S. BRECKENRIDGE; and, program, Nole SENEY.

REDDING - Bessie ULLERY left Monday for Farmington, NM, where she will teach.

BIRTHS

  • GRANT CENTER - Mr. and Mrs. Darwin SOLLARS are the proud parents of a nine and one-half pound baby boy, born Saturday night. Mrs. SOLLARS is the former Hazel ROUTH.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Lee STONE are the parents of a son, Philip Lee, who was born July 17, in the Decatur County Hospital in Leon.
