At a meeting of directors of the Ringgold County Fair association held Tuesday evening of last week, plans for the 1955 county fair were furthered. J. D. WARIN of Maloy, president of the association, conducted the meeting and appointed the following committees: Grounds, J. W. YOUNG, Frank CLARKE, and Stuart W. HOOVER; Fair Book Revision, Robert McCREARY, J. W. TRIGGS and Homer L. MINNICK; Gates, W. T, TIMBY; Home Talent Night, Miss Vera F. DICKENS, Robert McCREARY and J. D. WARIN.

Over 75 relatives and friends joined Mr. and Mrs. James MOSIER in observance of their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 6 in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lloyd DAVENPORT of Wenatchee, WA.

Election of E. E. CARR of Mount Ayr to serve as Ringgold county director of the Iowa Automobile Dealers Association has been announced by Wialliam C. Culver of Cedar Rapids, association president. County directors are chosen by mail ballots of member dealers in each county and the 33 elected this month will begin three-year terms on April 1, immediately following the association's 37th state convention to be held March 28 and 29 in Des Moines.

Deputy Sheriff Ivan JOHNSTON purchased the John SWEARINGEN residence property in Mount Ayr Saturday. Possession was given immediately. The JOHNSTONS moved their household goods Saturday from the M. E. McNUTT property to their new residence.

Miss Ina NAPIER, vice-principal of the Creston high school, was elected to the newly-created post of N. E. A. district director during the annual district meeting of the south central division of the Iowa State Education Association held Monday. Miss NAPIER, who served as district president during the past year, will also serve as a member of the district executive board. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. NAPIER of this city. Included among the newly elected members of the executive board is Vance GEIGER, principal of the Mount Ayr schools.

  • March 19, a daughter, Mary Patricia, to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald GARDNER, Diagonal
  • March 22, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Rex ANDERSON, Benton
