RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, January 24, 1917

by Chanse Hall, Mount Ayr Record-News

Roy Hunt was the lucky man and drew the $25 rug at Frisby's store last Wednesday.

Miss Beswick, teacher of the local kindergarten, assisted by local talent, will give a musical and vaudeville at the Princess Theatre Friday night. Among the local entertainers are Mallory and Johnston, Bernice Hannelly, Reba Roberts, Irene Williams, Regina Lesan, Mary Allyn, Master Elmo Pierre Miars and the kindergarten orchestra. Admission prices are 10 cents and 15 cents.

One of the most enjoyable social events in the life of the Church of Christ was the reception given Monday night for the new pastor, Elder Frank T. Carter, and his bride. The program included a solo by Mr. Fuller; reading by Stella Wright; male quartet, composed of Earl Rusk, Harry Spurrier, song by Regina Lesan and Master Elmo Pierre Miars; and several selections by an orchesta composed of Mrs. Lesan, Helen Spurrier, Chester Mallory, Earl Thompson, H. D. Price, and Raymond Bretz. During the social hour, an Edison Concert was given by John B. Currie.
