Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

Dale VanGINKEL, who came to Mount Ayr last August to open the new United Food Market, is being transferred to Perry on or about the first of March to become manager of that city. Dan CARYL, manager of the Osceola store, will be transferred to Mount Ayr to succeed Mr. VanGINKEL.

J. H. EDDY, manager of the Princess Theatre in Mount Ayr, announces the installantion of a new giant panoramic wide-screen, reaching from wall to wall. "We have made extensive building altercations," Mr. EDDY said, "and have purchased new equipment in order to bring to the community the big, spectacular and colorful hits that are bringing a new world of motion picture wonderment."

Mr. and Mrs. James MOSIER will observe the 50th anniversary of their marriage on March 6. The MOSIERS are former residents of Ringgold county.

Mr. and Mrs. S. P. STUCK of Poe township will observe their 60th wedding anniversary today (Thursday).

The Maroons, considered among the best basketball teams in Diagonal's history, this week are representing Ringgold county in the Class B division of the district tournament at Creston. Having already walloped Arispe by an impressive score of 89-45, the Maroons meet Blockton tonight in the finals. The team consists of Coach Dale HERRINGTON, Marion PRICE, Philip DUKES, Elvin JOHNSON, Dick TEPLY, Dick TAYLOR, Jack TAYLOR, Alvin SCHLAPIA, Bill JOHNSTON, Bob PINE, Carroll STRANGE, Larry MOTSINGER and Tommy AUSTIN.

  • February 20, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Robert SEFRIT, Redding
  • February 20, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Dale CAMPBELL, Murdo SD
  • February 21, a son, Thomas Lynn, to Mr. and Mrs. John HENTZ, Lamoni
  • February 21, a son, Jerry Lee, to Mr. and Mrs. Roy CLARK, Mount Ayr
