Connie SANDAGE, senior in the Mount Ayr Community high school, has been appointed chairman of the "Teens Against Polio" campaign in Ringgold county, according to an announcement made by Jim BURGE, county March of Dimes fund-raising chairman.

Guy HENDERSON of Lenox is the new chairman of the board of directors of the Creston 4-H Spring and Swine Show, having been elected to that office during a meeting of the organization held Saturday, in Creston. Mr. HENDERSON, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. ARNEAL of this city, is well and favorably known in Ringgold county.

Anthony's Department Store in Mount Ayr was entered Monday night and more than $800 were taken from a steel filing cabinet in the store's office. Entrance was gained through double doors in the rear of the building. Anthony's Store is managed by Art SCHMIT.

Three places of businesses in Tingley -- the Wm. S. BRECKENRIDGE & Sons store, JACKSON'S Garage and the Tingley State Savings Bank -- were entered Tuesday night, however, the loot amounted to less than $30.

Stuart W. HOOVER left Monday for his home in Denver, CO after completing business in connection with the HOOVER Homestead purbred Hereford cattle dispersal sale held Decemer 11, at the Mount Ayr Livestock Market. The top bull of HH Battle Intense breeding was bought by Leonard G. MILLER of Creston for $520, who also selected a fine young cow. The top cow and calf was bought by John and Mary THOMAS of Mount Ayr for $520 and they also purchased other high quality females. The sale marked the close of Mr. HOOVER'S beef cattle and promotional career.

Fifteen Ringgold county swine producers went Wednesday of last week to the Saint Joseph Livestock Market and observed hog carcasses use in the live grading and marketing demonstration held the preceding Monday in Mount Ayr. The hogs had been purchased and slaughtered by the Swift Packing Company.
