Five occupants of two cars escaped injury Sunday about 12:20 o’clock in a collision at the inter-section near the HARVEY Brothers Garage in Mount Ayr. J. M. ANDERSON was driving east in his 1961 Oldsmobile when he collided with a 1955 Ford, owned by R. L. MAGGARD of Mount Ayr, and driven by his son, Perry MAGGARD of Des Moines. A young son of Perry's was with himat the time of the accident.

New officers were installed for the Tingley Lions Club Thursday night. Officers are Quentin ABARR, president; Paul WEEDA, first vice president; Loren IBBOTSON, second vice president; Darrel WERNER, third vice president; Dean BRECKENRIDGE, secretary; Carl RIGGS, tail twister; Marvin HALM, lion tamer, and Wayne OVERHOLTZER, Ellis HILL, Frank RICHARDS and Lloyd WEEDA, directors.

Many enthusiastic feeders had the opportunity to see the new Check-R-Mix plant in full operation Saturday during the grand opening of BASTOW'S Feed and Grain in Mount Ayr. Bob BASTOW, owner and operator of the new plant, says he plans to handle top quality grain for feeders who want to buy. Storage space is also provided for feeders who wish to avail themselves of the service and convenient no-charge grain banking program.

  • June 20, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Norman GREEN, Shenandoah
  • June 20, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald SUMMAOF, Mount Ayr
