Grand opening of the railroad depot museum in the old depot in Mount Ayr will be held Sunday, Spet. 24. A small group interested in preserving and restoring the depot of the old CB&Q railroad line began work on the project in 1992.

The First Christian Church of Mount Ayr gave its first 60th attendance bar at Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 17. Ike McGEHEE of Mount Ayr, and a member of the church, was presented a 60th attendance bar for having attended Sunday school for 60 years. McGEHEE also recieved a plaque from the church in honor of the occasion.
