RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, September 21, 1989

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

A Ringgold County product will receive national attention this week when it is featured on "The Price is Right," the nationally televised game show. The show will air Friday, September 22 and will feature one of the wood rocking horses created by WoodLink, Inc. in Mount Ayr.

Preparations are being made for the annual CROP Walk for Hungar to be held this year on Sunday, October 1, in Ringgold County. Last year over 300 walkers participated in the event to raise money for the hungry, with one quarter of the amount raised being returned to Ringgold County for hunger projects such as the county food pantries. Helping with registration for the event will be Shirley HICKMAN and Paula RICHARDS. Other members of the CROP committee organizing the event include Phil KINTON, Carmen LAMPE, Margaret WILKINS, Eydie STEPHENS, Dave POLICH and Milt HENDERSON.

Though the Raiders outplayed the Bedford Bulldogs for all but three plays, the Raiders didn't put the game away when the should have. The Bulldogs rallied to a last second score and a 14-13 victory.
