Seven sets of twin[s] are presently enrolled in the Mount Ayr Community high school. They are Clair and Beckey JAMSE,
son and daughter of Mr. and Mr.s Victor JAMES; Janet and Jean ROBERTS, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Walter ROBERTS;
Robert and Roger FREY, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur FREY; Jean and Dean BURCHETT, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William
BURCHETT; Jack and Janice SICKELS, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy SICKELS; Mickey and Vickey RICE, daughters of
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond RICE, and Barbara and Betty SACKETT, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Burl SACKETT.
The mixed drill team of the Kellerton Rebekah and I.O.O.F. went Saturday to Lincoln, NE where they participated in
a four-state conclave, which was held in the Municipal Auditorium. Forty teams from Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska
were represented. Those who took part in the drill were Doris GIBSON, drill captain, Annabelle ETHINGTON, Chester GIBSON,
Bernice and George BAKER, Wilma and Elmer HIGHTSHOE, Frances and Elton PRIEST, Pauline and Frank DEEMER, JoAnn and
Charles GORMAN, Ermil and Joe HAINLINE, Eula and Glenn BEAR and Claude STAGNER. Others from Kellerton who attended were
Betty Jean and LeRoy TRIMBLE, Hazel and Harold HARVEY, Joyce GIBSON and Ruth GROUT of Tingley. Mrs. TRIMBLE serves as
musician for practice and local drill work.
All schools in Ringgold county, except the rural schools, will be maintained during the 1960-61 school year, this decision
having been reached at the regular meeting of the board of education held May 11. In order to attain a more efficient
operation of schools in the district, it was decided to combine and create larger class, thereby decreasing the numbers
of teachers required.
