Thursday, June 19, 1986

Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

With repairs and improvements in place, Judge LEWIS Park in Mount Ayr has returned to its normal busy summer schedule. The tennis courts have a new surface which will greatly improve their usability and the swimming pool season is now in full swing following replacement of the drainage system at the pool, which was leaking and causing too much water to escape.

Election of two Farmers Home administration county committee members will take place Wednesday, June 25, county supervisor Keith BASTOW announced today. "This is an historic occasion," Keith BASTOW said. "It is the first time that FmHA county committee members have been elected. Until now, they have been designated by the agency. The 1985 Farm Bill calls for two elected and one designated member on the committee." Nominees for the Ringgold County FmHA county committee are Beverly McGINNIS and Raymond HENSLEY.

Michael C. LANCTOT of Hawarden will start June 30 as Ringgold County Hospital administrator. This is the word from a special meeting board held last Thursday, June 12, when a final three candidates were considered.

Two Mount Ayr Community high school graduates were awarded $20 scholarships by the Ringgold County Hospital Auxiliary at the group's annual scholarship tea Monday. The recipients were Marcia STAMPER, who will attend nursing school at Iowa Methodist Hospital, and Karla SWANK, who will attend medical assistant school at the Omaha College of Health Careers.
