RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, November 18, 1999

Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

An injunction against building a replacement clubhouse at Sun Valley Lake remains in effect until a December hearing sets damages to Sky View Financial, Inc. for loss of offices in the old clubhouse that is being demolished. At a hearing, damages against Sun Valley Iowa Lake Association, the property owners' association at the private lake, will be determined to compensate Sky View Financial, Inc., a corporation owned by Clint ANDERSON and Wendall SOLLARS of Ellston, for loss of its rights to office spance in the former clubhouse.

Two of the Canadian 4-H Council's premiere programs, the 69th National 4-H Conference, the organization's longest running program, and the 21st annual National 4-H Volunteer Leaders Conference were held in Toronto, Ontario November 3-7. Included in the group celebrating these special events as a chaperone was local office program assistant of the Ringgold County Extension office, Tessa BARNES of Kellerton.

Two Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes were named to Pride of Iowa valleyball all-conference team following the recent season. Angie SHIELDS was a unanimous selection as a second team setter and Dara CREVELING was named a second team utility player for the team after the girls placed seventh in the Pride of Iowa conference.

Lynn's Texaco Food Mart in Mount Ayr is participating in the 19th annual cent-a-gallon day for Camp Courageous of Iowa. One cent out of every gallon of petroleum product sold on Wednesday, Nov. 24, the day before Thanksgiving, will go to Camp Courageous. Camp Courageous of Iowa is a year-round recreation and respite care facility for individuals with disabilities, run on donations. The cent-a-gallon day campaign is the camp's only statewide fund-raiser.

Alison QUICK was presented his national trophy by Dennis Deaver, regional director of the racing association, at the national meet in George. He won the trophy with his season point totals when the finals could not be run.
