Graduation exercises for seniors from the three Ringgold county high schools will be held over the next three days. Diagonal exercises will be held for 13 seniors Friday, May 19, at the old gymnasium in Diagonal. Twelve Grand Valley students will be graduated at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, in a ceremony in Kellerton. A total of 51 seniors are expected to be graduated from Mount Ayr Community high school in a ceremony Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. from the high school gymnasium.

Mount Ayr Community elementary school had the largest contingent of representatives of any of the schools when the Iowa FINE Schools recognition was held at Terrace Hill in Des Moines Saturday. Larry GILES accepted congratulations from Governor Branstad.

Over 600 friends of Scott JOHNSTON and his parents, Jan and Ed JOHNSTON of rural Diagonal, came to the Delbert ROUTH rural Diagonal residents May 13 for a benefit beef and pork roast. They left approximately $16,000 to be used for medical expenses for Scott, who is a 17-year-old Diagonal high school junior.

Between 350 and 375 people were part f the musical offerings of the Ringgold Singers in concert Friday May 12 at the Mount Ayr Community high school auditorium.

Mary LONGFELLOW of Clearfield has been chosen by Unit #97 of Clearfield to attend the 44th annual session of Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State to be held June 10 to 17, on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. LONGFELLOW is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick LONGFELLOW of Clearfield and a junior at Mount Ayr Community high school.

Sean THOMAS, Mount Ayr Community high school senior, was named the American Choral Director's Association award winner as the top senior vocal music student of Mount Ayr Community at the high school spring vocal music concert Tuesday, May 16.
