Susan HENDERSON, of Mount Ayr, was included among the newly elected 1964 state 4-H officers installed Friday evening during ceremonies of the third annual State 4-H Conference, which ended Saturday at Iowa State University in Ames.

Carroll Eugene THOMAS, 43, of Cameron, MO., who stole a 1964 Rambler station wagon Friday evening in east Mount Ayr, was apprehended Saturday morning in Greenfield by Sheriff Don FOSTER.

A full day of activities has been announced for the sixth annual Creston 4-H and FFA Dairy Show scheduled for June 22, in downtown Creston. To date, entries from Ringgold County are Faye DILLENBURG, Sharon POOL, Tom LARSON, John LARSON, Eugene DILLENBURG, Jack MAIN, Craig RIGGS, Frank POLLOCK and Rodney SHIELDS

Larry D. HEWLETT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geral E. HEWLETT, of Grand River, has been promoted to staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force at Orlando AFB, Florida. Sergeant HEWLETT is a data processing machine operator in a unit that supports the Military Air Transport Service mission of providing global airlift of U.S. military forces and equipment. The sergeant is a granduate of Grand River High School.

  • A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. James RIDGE
