by Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr Record-News

Top junior high magazine salespersons included Lesa LLEWELLYN, Jerry NOBLE and Randy HENSLEY.

Senior players for the Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes volleyball team this season include Terrinda KLOMMHAUS, Sandy LINK, Linda PARKER and Debbie REPP. The four players are members of the team that downed Bedford in a quadrangular meet last week to gain their first win of the year.

A fire about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, destroyed a 40 by 50 foot, recently remodeled, dairy barn at the Glen "Pete" GILLIS farm 11 miles southwest of Mount Ayr. In addition to taking the barn, the blaze erendered inoperable the equipment used to milk their 37 cows and burned hay stored in the loft.

Lee TERWILLIGER, 54, of Mount Ayr, was brought to the Ringgold County Hospital emergency room with multiple injuries sustained when he was pinned between a truck and a chipper while working with a Ringgold county secondary road crew about 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. Later he was transferred by Life Flight to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where a fractured left kidney was removed and several fractured ribs were treated.
