Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Janice CALDWELL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack CALDWELL of this city, was crowned by Supt. O.C. WALKER as queen of the Mount Ayr Community high school at ceremonies held Friday night at the school's annual homecoming festivities. She was presented a bouquet of roses by Lesa CREVELING, and was escorted to her "throne" by Gary MARTIN.

A gold rating, the nation's highest award, was awarded the Mount Ayr chapter of Future Farmers of America during sessions of the National FFA convention held last week in the Municipal Audiotrium in Kansas City, MO.

All oficers of the Rose Hill Cemetery Association were re-elected during the annual meeting of the organization held Tuesday afternoon. They are: Mrs. Leona RUSK, president; Mrs. Walter HUDSON, vice-president; Mrs. H.B. ELLIS, secretary; and Mrs. W.T. TIMBY, tresurer. Members of the board of trustees of the association are the Mesdames Joe PLACE, Ed. J. CARR and C.M. CAMP, James E. MAHAN, Elmo ROE and Earl DUGAN.

Dutch Elm Disease has been found and positively identified in Ringgold County, according to J.N. CHICKEN, county extension director. Dutch Elm Disease was first identified in Iowa at Ft. Madison in 1957.
