Diagonal will bring back the feeling of an old-fashioned Saturday night on main street July 24 -- all for a good cause. Diagonal is raising funds for a new community building -- and need another $40,000 toward the community's $70,000 goal. To help raise the funds, an evening of fun is planned including a play recreating a Saturday nigh between 1944 and 1950 in Diagonal, children's games, printing museum tours, easy listening music, volleyball and three-on-three basketball tournments, t-ball, a silent auction, brick sales, and a hog roast among other activities. Homemade ice cream, sno-cones, lemonade and an old-fashioned candy shop will also be featured. The event is sponsored by the Diagonal Community Building Committee and the Diagonal Lions club.
