A recent feature in a New Jersey newspaper told the story of remembrances of Frederick Dean Fogal, who died last month of cancer at age 69. Fogle helped create the Fogle Recreational Area in his father's hometown of Diagonal.

Citizens of Tingley are involved in a drive to raise money for the food pantry of the Neighborhood Center in Mount Ayr. A donor has offered $1,000 for the project if it can be met by donations to the center by January 2.

  • A baby girl to Al and Josie Johnson of Des Moines.
