Joel McCLURE, a partner in Cunning Company Incorporated of Mount Ayr, which handles both insurance and farm
management, has resigned that position and will be moving to Phelps, WI. He will be assisting his wife, Jan, in the
running of a "bed and breakfast" at a lodge and cabins in the Phelps area. He hopes to secure employment in his field
also.
The Ringgold County Soil and Water Conservation District, represented by Paul SMITH of Blockton, has been honored as a
Grand Award District in the 47th annual Conservation Awards Program sponsored by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and
National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD).
Utility companies serving Ringgold County report little or no difficulties in the county as a result of last week's
rain/ice/snowstorm. However, I.E.S. Utilities, Inc. did send one crew from Mount Ayr, Bob HALEY and Kevin ANDREWS to
Centerville, where they helped with the damage done there from Wednesday to Friday, Dec. 7-9.
