Arnold COMBS of this city picked up an almost impossible split of the 4-7 and 9-10 pins Tuesday night of last week at the Lucky Lanes Bowling Alley. The Spare bowling television program offers $12,000 for this particular and seldom heard of pickup.

C. W. (Bill) HORNE of this city was elected president of the Ringgold County Saddle Club during a meeting of that organization held Thursday night. He succeeds Lester SICKELS of Kellerton who served in that capacity during the years. Other officers elected are Don BETHARDS vice president; Mrs. Raymond (Pat) RICE of Kellerton, secretary; F. E. McNEILEY, treasurer; Mrs. C. W. HORNE, reporter and historian; C. E. LAYTON, trail captain; and Benny CANNON of Kellerton, assistant trail captain.

The WISEMAN Roller Rink in Mount Ayr was sold Friday to Raymond BARKER and Harold R. WEBB. Immediate possession was given. The business will be operated under the name of the Mount Ayr Roller Rink, which will be managed by Mr. BARKER. Besides operating the rink, Mr. BARKER will continue to serve in his present capacity in the sales department of the Mount Ayr Implement Co. Mr. WEBB will continue to serve the W. B. CUNNING Company in the farm management and insurance departments.

Sim C. RICE, mayor of Mount Ayr for three years, has tendered his resignation with the town council, effective the last day of December. Mayor RICE has been convalescing from a heart attack suffered in September.

In a business transaction completed last week, Howard SMITH sold his interest in the PETERSON Insurance Agency to Carl F. PETERSON. Mr. SMITH will continue to represent the general agency and the Ringgold Mutual Insurance Association in the capacity of special agent.
