A new greenhouse will be built for the vocational agriculture program at Mount Ayr Community high school but renovation of the 1936 building and removal of the basement to the 1912 building will have to wait. Those were decisions reached by the Mount Ayr Community school board at its regular meeting Monday.

Beth MARTIN, daughter of Bob and Verna MARTIN of Mount Ayr, was crowned 1986 Ringgold County Beef Queen during a November 8 annual meeting Ringgold County Cattlemen and CowBelles held at the American Legion building in Mount Ayr. Miss MARTIN'S sponsors are Steve and Cheryl TAYLOR of the Mount Ayr Livestock Market.

Hester DERSCHEID of Kellerton was honored with the Elanco Cow Gal Award for her participation in all facets of CowBelle activites. She has been a member since 1975.

Breckenridge Store in Tingley is missing a money bag contaiing $400 in cash and additional checks. The money bag was taken from under the counter while employees were in another area of the store.

Wayne Feeds will again be available in Mount Ayr with the opening this week of DREDGE Feed Service. Royce DREDGE will operate the feed business from an office at Hilltop Veterinary Clinic along Highway 2 and 169. Lora STULL will help with office work for the new business.

A small hog house and nine pigs were destroyed in a fire Monday evening, Nov. 11 at the Gary WOOLLUMS farm 10 miles south of Mount Ayr of the "Sale Barn Road." Heat lamps being used in the building were thought to be the cause.

Ringgold county had two division winners in this year's "Make It Yourself With Wool Contest" among 33 entries. Debra SMITH of Beaconsfield and BIlli HUNT of Diagonal were winners in the pre-teen and junior categories, respectively. The winners are no eligible to participate in the state contest Nov. 29 at the Howard Johnson Motel on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines.

Jennifer HULLINGER, a Grand Valley Community high school student, was elected distric vice president of the Future Homemakers of America at the group's annual meeting at Southwestern Community College in Creston October 10. HULLINGER is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William HULLINGER of Kellerton.
