Monday morning, April 10, Ringgold countians ushered in a work week that was to be greeted with almost every kind of
weather. There had been damaging lightning and grape-sized hail that looked like marbles covering the ground. Cars made
tracks in the icy stuff. There had been rain with heavier ones to come throughout that day and the next. By Monday
evening weather reporters were talking about flash floods in the county.
Residents of Ringgold and Decatur counties have a new tool to help them when they wanted to make a charitable contribution to
keep on giving into the future. The South Central Iowa Community Foundation has recently been organized to "contribute to a
better life for the people of South Central Iowa by helping donors carry out their charitable intent and by providing
responsilbe stewardship of gifts for community purposes.
