Newly elected Ringgold County Hospital board members were welcomed to observe the Nov. 9 meeting and become acquainted with their duties. Those named to the board in the November election were Sandra TAYLOR of rural Diagonal, Dr. Keith MILLER of Mount Ayr and incumbent Ken SMITH of rural Blockton. Members retiring from the board are Dale BICKEL of rural Diagonal and Don SOLLIDAY of Mount Ayr.

Catherine Lee POYNTER and Gregory Weston BROWN were united in marriage on July 11, 1992 at the Maryville, MO First Christian Church. Parents of the bride are H. L. and Marty POYNTER. Parents of the groom are Ed and Karen BROWN of Pickering, MO, and grandparents are Eldon and Darlene RICKER of Diagonal.

Max and Maxine ANDERSON of Mount Ayr were honored on their retirement from ownership of Mount Ayr Mill and from ownership of Mount Ayr Mill and Feed at the Mount Ayr Chamber of Commerce's November meeting.

Ringgold Post 172 of the American Legion in Mount Ayr has a new addition to its displays -- an American flag flown on stealth aircraft during two missions in Desert Storm -- along with other memorabilia. Mr. and Mrs. Don BEAR made the presentation for the flag and asked the Legion post to display and preserve the memories of their son, Daniel D. BEAR, Jr., who acquired them during the Desert Storm conflict.

The Mount Ayr Community Raiderette volleyball team finished with a 15-7 season, the best on record for volleyball for the school. Members of the squad included: Rebecca NEAS, Nicole STUCK, Patricia MUNYON, Tracy HENRY, DeAnna FARIS, Cindy WALTERS, Brandi LININGER, Ellen WILT, Jamie TAYLOR, Tonya BAKER, Belinda CHRISTNER, Ami PATEL, Terri REED, Heather GREENE, Judi SCHLAPIA, Nicole GROSE, Kari STILL, Kendra CARAWAY, Kim PARRISH, Jenny GROSE, Laura HUMENCE, Josie STEPHENS, Christi SMITH, Jill DENNEY, Tracy STEWART, Lory CROSS, Amy VARDAMAN, Amanda CAMPBELL, Tami TRULLINGER, Tara GROVES, Kayren WATSON, Alicia HOWIE, April HINZ and Kim GREGG.
