Among the approximate 1,500 students enrolled for the summer quarter at Iowa State College [present-day Iowa State University] in Ames are three from Ringgold county - Robert NOVAK, Diagonal, electrical engineering; Robert WILKINSON, of Mount Ayr, plant pathology; and Flora WAUGH, of Redding, home economics special.

Robert E. COLE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. COLE, of Benton, who is a student at the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO., has been elected president and also chairman of the membership committee of the Student Christian Association, a combination of the Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A.

Dr. Luther HICKERSON, a graduate of the School of Medicine at the State University of Iowa, Iowa City, recently returned from Duluth, MN., where he served his internship. He plans to open offices the last of the month at Brooklyn, located about sixy miles west of Iowa City.

The BEASLEY Brothers - Victor and Percy - announce that they will establish a Western Auto Association Store in the BARTOW building on the northwest corner of the square.

BIRTHS

  • KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. Marshall GIBSON are the parents of a baby girl, born July 1.
  • DELPHOS - Mr. and Mrs. Truman MATTHEWS are the proud parents of a seven-pound girl, born July 6.
  • DELPHOS - Mr. and Mrs. Paul McQUIGG are the proud parents of a baby boy, born July 7. He will be known as John Harold McQUIGG.
