RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, January 11, 1996

Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

Mount Ayr Community music teachers will not be sharing time at Grand Valley elementary school next year, if a plan suggested to the Mount Ayr Community school board Monday night is followed.

Two WURSTER families, longtime residents of the Tingley area, have moved or will be moving to northeast Iowa. Gary and Robin WURSTER and their daughter, Holly, 13, and son Stefan, 10, will be making their home on the farm they purchased near Clermont, in northeast Iowa. Howard and Dorthy WURSTER, Gary's parents, will be moving to make their home in Clermont, a town of about 600 after Dorothy conpletes her year as a kindergarten teacher in the East Union of Afton schools, where she has been an instructor since 1970. She retires this year. Howard is a former operator of Tingley elevator and has been driving a Mount Ayr Community school bus recently.

Kenneth QUICK has been named as chairman of the Ringgold County board of supervisors for 1996. Other supervisors are Ethel CAMPBELL and Jim JONES.

A new superintendent for the Clearfield Community school district is being sought. David ANCTIL, superintendent-principal for the district which operated an elementary school at Clearfield, is retiring after 38 years of school work.
