Just how important carbon monoxide detectors can be was made evident to Bob and Mary POUSH of Mount Ayr early Tuesday morning. At 1:30 a.m. Monday morning the alarm went off, waking up the POUSHES at their home at 107 E. Van Buren. Bob POUSH said he had trouble moving around but he got doors and windows opened and got his wife out of of the house. The POUSHES have been having some trouble with their gas furnace and have a new one ordered. Until it is installed, they are going to stay at a home they own in Creston.

One of the balloons released in Carlisle to honor the birth of the McCaughey septuplets has been found in Mount Ayr. Mrs. William CRAWFORD of Mount Ayr found a light blue balloon in her yard Sunday, Nov. 30. It proved to be one of the hundreds of pink and blue balloons released Saturday, Nov. 29, in Carlilse.

Family Practice Associates medical clinic in Mount Ayr welcomed Dr. Ajay DHAWAN, M.D., who is now in Mount Ayr and will be practicing medicine under the JI visa program.

"Merry Christmas To You: will be the Christmas production of the Moonlighter Theatre Group this weekend. Doug GREENE is the director.
