The two state legislators whoserve Ringgold county directly have been in the forefront of controversial issues in the legislature this year. State representative Cecil DOLECHECK of Mount Ayr and state senatorJeff ANGELO of Creston were on hand Saturday at the legislative coffee to share information about action in the state legislature.

Naomi RICHARDS of Mount Ayr won a large Easter Bunny from Lynn's Texaco Food Mart in Mount Ayr last week. The bunny was donated by their grocery distributor Farner Bocken of Carroll. Naomi's parents are Tony RICHARDS and Jennifer RICHARDS.

Judith DREDGE of Mount Ayr has been awarded a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children.

A Mount Ayr Community elementary sixth grader designed the winning tobacco prevention t-shirt in a contest held recently. Christina ENGLAND designed the t-shirt in a contest among sixth graders from Clearfield, Diagonal and Mount Ayr Community schools.

Raider wrestler Blake HAUGLAND of Mount Ayr took good advantage of his opportunity to wrestle one more time in the North-South All-Star meet held at Charles City Saturday. HAUGLAND took a 4-1 victory over Dan ZEPEDA of Des Moines Lincoln, the state class 3A state champion, to be the only non-state champion to defeat a state champion at the meet.
