Members of the board of supervisors for Ringgold county for this year are Raymond FROST, new member; Maurice HANSON, chairman, second-year member, and Ernest BASTOW, who is serving the last year of a third term.

Joe N. PLACE of this city, secretary of the P. M. Place Stores Company, announced the completion of plans for the opening of the 17th unit in the Place chain of variety stores in Fairfield.

Mount Ayr Cub Scouts netted $28.50 from the sale of 5,700 pounds of old paper.

Weldon SANDAGE of Kellerton, farm service supervisor for the circulation department of the Des Moines Register, has won a four-day expense-paid trip to Las Vegas, NV. The trip for two persons was awarded Mr. SANDGE in recognition of his sales record during a fall campaign sponsored by the Register. His territory includes Appanoose, Clarke and Wayne counties, part of Davis county and towns in two counties in Missouri.

Wayne JOHNSON of Kellerton won the Mount Ayr City League bowling singles championship in the tournament held last week at Lucky Lanes. JOHNSON, who has a 150 average, rolled a 552 scratch series, and with a handicap of 102 netted 654 for his win.

Transportation aid warrants in the total amount of $24,595.32 have been distributed to the schools of Ringgold county. The amount of transportation aid issued to each school district is as follows: Diagonal Community school district,$3,369.50; Grand Valley Community school district, $4,568.92, and Mount Ayr Community school district, $16,656.90.

The Steve Nagys beat the BillyGs in a playoff to win the forst half title in the eighth and ninth grade boys junior league. Chuck MEACHAM paced the Nagys with a 316 series for two games and Cullen GEIST had a 302. Steve FETTY is captain of the team and Larry ADAMS is the other member. Kenny MARKLEY had a 308; Bruce HENDERSON, captain, 295, and Allyn MONAGHAN, 289, for the BillyGs. Jim PEDERSEN is also a member of the team.
