Julie SCHWALBE and Marty GREENLAND reigned as homecoming royalty for the Grand Valley Community high school homecoming activities Friday, Dec. 3. SCHWALBE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard SCHWALBE of Grand River, was crowned queen and GREENLAND, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max GREENLAND of Grand River, was crowned king at ceremonies following the girls and boys basketball games with Prescott Friday night.

Bruce RICKER, who is a senior student in the Osteopathic School of Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, and his wife, Michell, have arrived in Mount Ayr where RICKER will take a six-month externship in the family practice with the doctors in the Mount Ayr Medical Clinic and Physicians Associates.

The restaurant portion of Larry's Country Western Bar opened for business in Mount Ayr this week. The new restaurant, located on Highway 2 and 169 in Mount Ayr in the location of the old skating rink, will be open 24 hours a day and will feature 10-cent coffee. The new building is completely rebuilt and includes an addition for kitchen and other facilities. Larry F. WEIR is owner of the new facilities.

Roe Implement Co., the Mount Ayr International Harvester dealer, closed this week. The business, which has been having financial troubles for the past year, was officially closed early this week.

Tracey BOLES, a student at Grand Valley Community high school in Kellerton, has been chosen as a member of the Student Body Future Homemakers of America team from across the state of Iowa.

Dave DAUGHTON, son of Mr. and Mrs. William DAUGHTON of Mount Ayr, is a member of the 1982-83 Central College westling team. DAUGHTON, a senior two-time letter winner, placed third in last year's conference meet at 142 pounds but will go at 150 pounds this season.
