Ringgold County has the second lowest number of males 18-25 years old registered for the draft according to the Selective Service System. A total of 266 are from Ringgold County.

Lois HUNT of Diagonal has been awarded partial funding by the Excellence in Extension Fund of the Iowa State University Foundation for her graduate study program in community development.

Among the officially counted 8,300 persons who rode the RAGBRAI bicyle trail across Iowa were two Ringgold Countians and an additional one who was formerly from Maloy. Ron SICKELS of Mount Ayr and Gary KLEJCH of rural Benton and John BETOF, now of Peoria, AZ made the 510-mile trek from Sioux Center to Burlington.
