Candidates for homecoming queen at Mount Ayr Community high school, who will be crowned tomorrow night precedingthe Mount Ayr-Lenox football game on the local field, are Kathy PRENTIS, Mary Jane SMITH, Janice CALDWELL, Sharyn GILES and Carol SHAY.

Herbert BASTOW, Jeane BLACK and Marilyn Davis, seniors of the Mount Ayr Community high school, have been honored for their high performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test given last spring, announcement of which has been made by Vance E. GEIGER, principal of the local high school.

BIRTHS REPORTED FROM RINGGOLD COUNTY HOSPITAL:

  • A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth D. REED
  • A son to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard BROWN
  • A son to Mr. and Mrs. Max HAIDSIAK
