A carload of eggs will leave Mount Ayr en route to Spain. From the Mount Ayr Produce, Billie FINCH, owner, will send the eggs by truck to New York City, from there they will be shipped by boat to Spain. On previous occasions Mr. FINCH has sent eggs to Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela.

Dr. Luther C. HICKERSON of Brooklyn was elected president of the Grinnell Community Hospital Association at the annual meeting of the medical staff held Nov. 21 at the hospital. Dr. HICKERSON is the son of Mrs. Carl JACKSON of this city.

The first Ford dealership franchise for Mount Ayr will be issued to Bob and Tim JOHNSTON upon process of paperwork incident thereto. They have purchased the May Motor interest of S.E. MAY and will occupy the Timby garage building. The JOHNSTON brothers are associated with their father, Horace A. JOHNSTON, a veteran automobile dealer since 1917. He started his career in the automotive field in Grand River and moved to Diagonal in 1919 and the sons have been associated with him since 1949. The business will be operated under the name JOHNSTON Motor.

LeRoy ENGLAND of Clearfield assumed his duties Monday of last week as manager of the fruit department of the local United Food Market. Mr. ENGLAND replaces Tom LARSON, who was transferred to the fruit department of the United in Clarinda, after having served the United in Mount Ayr for the past one and one-half years.
