Brent McCLURE, a 1909 graduate of the Mount Ayr Community School, has been selected as a member o the percussion section of the University of Northern Iowa Marching Band.

Scottish heritage and county history will be featured when the annual Ayr Days celebration is held this weekend in Mount Ayr.

Beford handled the Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes 3-1 in a match with some close game scores in the volleyball opener here Thursday.

For the second year in a row, the Mount Ayr Community Raiders were taught the tough lesson that you can't wait two quarters before getting things together. The Lenox Tigers beat them in their opening game 28-12.

Diagonal's Maroonette volleyball squad won opening action this past week, downing Mormon Trail and Lineville-Clio to tak a 2-0 season mark.
