The 34-voice Ringgold Singers presented their 34th annual concert entitled "Harmony-Ayr" at the MACHS auditorium. Featured soloists on songs sung by the chorus included Collus LAWHEAD, Alan IBBOTSON and Sue BECK. The group is directed by John STANDERFORD, and Sherri HYMBAUGH is accompanist.

The MACHS technology bowl team took first place at the state technology competition in Cedar Falls. Chad PARKER, Jeff MERCER and J.P. WHITTINGTON were on the winning team. Other students attending were Jason WEGNER, Clint DREDGE, Joe SPRING, Travis CASE, Justin HANSON, Tom BRADLEY and Erin MAIN.

Nathan SMITH of Mount Ayr became only the second student in the history of the Citizen Bee program to be a three-time state winner when he won the state competition in Des Moines Saturday. SMITH and Todd DERSCHEID of Ellston, both seniors at MACHS, were two of 27 state qualifiers who participated in the contet.

Public health nursing is celebrating 100 years of establishment in the United States. Local service is provided by Ringgold County Public Health Agency with the following public health nurses: Sue BECK, Carol Ann GALLOwAY, Joan GUNSOLLEY, Jan LOOMIS and Marcia SHOWALTER.

Five new members -- Wanda McGAHUEY, Priscilla HARVEY, Belle BURRELL, Dorothy REYNOLDS and Kathryn WURSTER -- were initiated at an impressive ceremony conducted by Mount Ayr American Legion Auxiliary members at the regular March meeting.

Jack CAMPBELL of Glendenning Motor Co., Inc. of Mount Ayr has achieved the Master Technician qualification level in the 1992 GMC Truck "5-star Performers" Transportation Technicians Guild program.

Fifty-one members, sponsors and guests were present at the April 21 Mount Ayr Women's Bowling Association's 33rd banquet and meeting held at Small Corral. Sylva MOFFETT, who held a membership (31 years) until the 1992-93 season, was a special guest. First place in team competition went to Shear Designers: Brenda WILKEY, captain, and Teena PETERSOHN, Lori MERCER, Denise GOLLIDAY and Deb BETHEL. BETHEL won all invdividual awards with a high average of 161, a high game of 240 and a high series of 595.
