Mrs. Robert GEORGE of Kellerton suffered bruises and lacerations Sunday morning about 5:30 a.m. in a one-car accident which happned west of Lamoni on the county line gravel road. Mrs. GEORGE, sole occupant of the car, lost control of the car, which left the road, went into a ditch and then turned over back on the road. She was taken to the Ringgold County Hospital for treatment and then released. The car, a 1951 Dodge, was totally demolished, according to sheriff Warren A. DRAKE, who reported the accident.

Three hundred quails, eight weeks of age, were released this week in lots of 15 in various sections of Ringgold county. The quails, provided by the Iowa State Conservation Commission, were raised by Harold M. ROSS of this city.

Shirley GOINS, former county girls 4-H president, went Monday to Madrid, where this week she is attending the State 4-H Leadership Camp. A member of the Jolly Jinglers 4-H Club, Shirley was awarded the trip by the county committee on the basis of her outstanding 4-H activities. Shirley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd GOINS of Diagonal and her club leader is Mrs. George VICKER of Diagonal.

Nine Ringgold county 4-H members exhibited beef projects in the Lenox Livestock Show Monday, August 3. Placing of members and their livestock were as follows: Judy BRAMMER, second and third place, Hereford heifer; Judy BRAMMER, second and third place Hereford steer; Randall HAMON, sixth place Hereford steer; Vickie WACKERNAGLE, 10th place Hereford steer; and Sheryl WACKERNAGLE, 13th place Hereford steer. Angus steer class: David LYNCH, third place; Craig LYNCH, sixth place; Joan LYNCH, eighth place; and Teena LYNCH, 13th place. Shorthorn steer class: lightweight class: Joan LYNCH, first place; Joyce LYNCH, second place; Randall HANSON, third place; and Jack GOODALE, eighth place.
