Ringgold County Sheriff's office took part in the investigation of the death of Levi BOOTHE, 11, of Midwest Opportunities of Creston last week. The boy's body was found Tuesday evening at 9:24 p.m. on Interstate 70 in Leavenworth county, MO before Raymond BOOTHE, Levi's father, allegedly tried to kill himself and Levi's three siblings by crashing his vehicle.

Tuesday morning astronaut Peggy WHITSON and the crew on the International Space Station were traveling a third of the way around the Earth in the time an audio link was made with the space station through NASA for an exclusive interview. Mount Ayr Record-News publisher H. Alan SMITH visited with WHITSON for almost a half hour about her recent space walk and other details of her space adventure.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Saturday morning at Hazel's Place southwest of Mount Ayr. The business is an expansion of the web site business, muddika.com, of Marie and Tim STEPHENS and offers dried flowers, houseplants, pottery and a variety of other gardening and plant arranging products.

The Missouri woman convicted in the murder of a former Mount Ayr resident was sentenced to life imprisonment last week in a Saint Joseph, MO courtroom. Pamela S. FOLEY, 41, of Ridgeway, MO was sentenced following pleading guilty to charges of second-degree murder in the death of her estranged husband, Larry WHITE, 39. The body of WHITE was found in a well near Eagleville, MO in December 2000.

Effective Monday, Sept. 9, Breadeaux Pizza in Mount Ayr will have a new ownership. Khaled (Kimo) and Rhonda ABDALLAH of Mount Ayr have purchased the pizza franchise from Bill and Janet READ of Lenox.
