Diagonal elementary school students participated in their first ever science fair last week with students in kindergarten through fifth grads each developing a science display of some kind. Diagonal high school science students were then asked to help give the students comments on their projects as no formal judging was done. Teachers were pleased with the success of the event.

It was a red letter day for the Mount Ayr Community high school athletes Tuesday as the Raider and Raiderette track teams swept to clear victories in the first ever Pride of Iowa Conference track meet held in Mount Ayr.

Three Mount Ayr Community high school students recieved awards in contests at the national BPA convention in Dallas, TX last week. Susan THOMPSON had an honorable mention in extemporaneous speaking II, Tracee HUTCHINSON had honorable mention in expempraneous speaking I and Bill THURMAN was honored for scoring at least a 90 on the business mat test.
