Paula HIXSON has been selected by Ringgold Unit No. 172 of Mount Ayr, to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State in Cedar Falls.

Chosen by Ringgold Post No. 172, American Legion, Gordon BRADLEY and Andy REYNOLDS will attend Boys State at Camp Dodge near Des Moines.

The top sellers for Poppy Day in Mount Ayr were Duane KIBBE, first; Denise DULANY, second; and Sheryl ROACH and Sheila BRAND, tied for third place.

Joyce STILL, office manager in the Ringgold County Hospital for 14 years recently resigned her position and on June 4 will assume the duties of bookkeeper for Gerold's Plumbing and Heating in Mount Ayr. Selected as part-time employees in the business office of the hospital are Mrs. Rex SHAHA and Mrs. Gary PETERSOHN.

Marla Kay EURITT will again head the Red Cross swimming program at the Lewis Park pool. Assisting with the lessons will be Terrie SMITH, Joyce GOLLIDAY, Lynn RINEHART, Phil HERRINGTON and Steve MITCHELL.

Mount Ayr Community High School students who have qualified for the Midcrest AAU Junior Olympics track and field meet to be held at the University of Nebraska in Omaha are Debbie WEEHLER, Judy KIBURZ and Sandy TERRY.

According to Russell BOYD, Title I co-ordinator, 134 children are enrolled for the sixth annual summer school session. Assisting with the program will be Garry HAMILTON, Richard KNAUSS, Susan LESAN, Joe McNEILL, Carole SAPP, Mr. and Mrs. Barton FRENCH, Ed DEFENBAUGH, Helen ANGUS, Clara Mae BIRD, Connie RYAN, Merle SOUTH, Mari HUMBERT, Alberta MICKAEL, Robbie SHISLER, Lorene TRIGGS, Marjorie McFARLAND, Donella JACKSON, May SAVILLE, Gertrude BRABY, Kathy McFARLAND, Patty SALTZMAN, Sheryl SMITH and Vicki SHIELDS.

STUDENT AYR

Pam HENRY will head the MACHS marching band as drum majorette during the 1972-72 school year. Others elected by the band members are Bob MILLER, assistant drum major, and Ginny SKARDA, Sandy FROST, Vicki SICKELS, Janet PACKWOOD and Cherie ROED, majorettes.

New officers of the Student Council are Lynn RINEHART, president; Benson HAINLINE, vice-president; Pam HENRY, secretary; and Paula HIXSON, treasurer.
